Actually, I wonder if it is as stupid as it sounds. Even if you the car is
UK spec, the roads aren't, and even in a right hand drive car you still
drive in the right lane in the US (or at least I hope you do!) so a single
mirror on the right would usually give you mostly a view of the shoulder
rather than vehicles that might be passing you. Seems that having a mirror
on the left is prudent regardless of whether you're driving from the left or
right seat. I find the right side mirror on my vehicles to be of little use,
not because I'm on the left side, but rather because there usually isn't
anything of interest to see on that side unless I happen to be passing
someone.

Of course, with the top down as it should be, you can see everything just by
turning your head. ;-)

Just some idle thoughts...
