Gerard-I think you misunderstood the
intent of my original message.
My comments were not intended to be
negative. The 1098 is the smoothest of
the bunch; they rev very sweetly but
not as freely as either the 948 or 1275,
both of which rev more freely than the
1098. In this respect the 1098 is more
of a stump puller than a high rpm engine.
The 1275 is the fastest of the bunch by
far and probably the roughest running of
the bunch, also. Nothing negative in this
either. It is what it is. So?
In stock Spridgets with stock engines running same gearing:
The 1098 is slower than the 1275 as it
develops less torque and horsepower;
Thus, "the 1098 is for someone
in not too much of a hurry". Nothing
negative here. It is what it is.
So, what's "nonsense" about the foregoing? What's not to understand?
What do "tuned" engines or Corvettes
have to do with this?
