Is your choke on?  Are your float levels set right?  Timing retarded?  My 
semi-loose and  pretty stock '67 gets 33 - 34 if I keep the revs below 4k 
(just motoring) and around 28 when I have my boot buried.  I can just 
stretch 200 on a tank if I'm playing hard.  I always use the 'odo' as a 
backup fuel gauge.
