Rear Leaf Spring Lowering

Was it Larry that said he used the 10 leaf rear spring to lower his
Bugeye by removing some leaves?  How many, which ones and how low did it
go?  Suspension still stiff enough?
Mike MacLean-60 Sprite that needs to be lowered when the 1275/5 speed
comes along.
