Texas, once (and still at heart) its own country - one of the first Nations to
accept Texas as an 'equal' (that word comes hard to Native Texans - but it
does apply here!) was France.
Texas was once (before the US bought the area via Louisiana Purchase) under
the French Flag.. so the connection between France and Texas predates most of
the US states.
Move to Philly? Didn't they have the Capital once and lost it to a swamp
area?
Race tracks.. more than mentioned.. equal to those in the north? Not sure - I
expect you will be able to find more than enough to satisfy your needs.
