Dave and others, take off the gearshift extension housing before attempting to
put the rear case on the trannie.  Much easier.

And Bill, as long as you take out the trannie to fix it, forget that and stick 
in

a 5 speed!  With a fresh engine, 5 speed, wind in your face, you'll be getting 
so

much pleasure, you'll give up smoking!!!  LOL!
