Be very careful of the washer to make the spring tighter trick.  If the oil
pressure is really 75 psi cold, adding the washer will drive the cold oil
pressure up too high.  Been there, done that.  (BIG mess as the oil filter
seal blew out!)  Also, at 75 psi cold, rule out the oil pump, it is fine.
The relief plunger could be getting stuck open, remove it and check for any
burrs and note if it moves in and out of the hole smoothly.  After that, low
oil pressure at idle when at running temps, but without knocking is either
worn cam bearings, or worn main bearings.  David Riker

Cold reading was 75psi, let it run in the driveway, hot reading 50psi at
4000rpm, 25psi at 2500rpm, then... the needle rested on the stop at idle.
