Went to NAPA yesterday and bought their "Premium XL"
belt, made by Gates and bearing Gates belt number
25-7330.
Seems to fit fine. Quiet while idling.
But .. rev it up and it squeals like a banchee. Starts as
a chirp then becomes a shreech! Took off the NAPA belt and
put back on the old TopCog belt and it's quiet as can be.
Even wailed it up into the yellow on the back roads. No
squeal.
Why is that?
Anybody guess the difference between Glen's 257345 and my
257330 (which is what the Gates web site reccommends)??
