I sat thru a Castrol oil seminar on their *new* high milage oil.
What they said sounded logical but then again does any company really
tell you their products are useless? I think not.
Castrol markets the oil to owner of cars with 70,000 miles on them.
In todays market, that's NOT high miles. 200,000 is high miles today.
Personally, I use name brand oils if the vehicle is still under
warranty. I use whatever is on sale after the warranty is up.
Oil is oil, and unless you are on the race track, it's all pretty much
the same for everyday vehicles.
Back to "high milage fluids, they said it swells the seals to prevent
leaks. I think if something is added to swell a seal, it will eventually
eat that seal.
