How well I remember going to college in East Tennessee! At that time in TN
the accepted rules were that you could not shoot unless the person was on
your property and you were not supposed to kill him unless he was at least
partway into the house.
A friend of mine lived next to some "providers" who were noted for loud
chemically-enhanced parties. A couple of guys came through her yard one
night knife-fighting each other. Her husky/shepherd cross promptly broke his
steel cable and joined in as the winning side. They sued, but had the
misfortune to draw the dog's vet as the judge. Case dismissed.
