On a 1275 the length is 2 11/16" from center of hole to end.
1098s are shorter because the p/plate is much deeper.
Also, early Spridgets had a stopper on the clutch pedal.
Too long a rod will overthrow the clutch or wipe out a T/O bearing.
You do want a bit of freeplay, keep the T/O off the P/Plate by 1/16-1/8"
