The top is the best part of the job. I really liked that guy. I would go
there if you ever get stuck.

I agree about the 13,000. No way anything like that into the car. But going
through all of the papers, I saw the guy was very organized. had written down
all sorts of stuff. Little bags of parts, with his hand written notes what
page from the catalog. And there was this Quicken print out, with references
to the checks, which showed all of these expenses. I don't have any reason
not to believe that this was his out of pocket. I have been cross checking
the prices of stuff from catalogs and that front bumper assembly is a small
fortune as is the a new wiring harness. The poor guy just didn't know not to
go to Moss or VB, until all other possibilities are exhausted.

Then there is the really crazy interior. With a non stock Bugeye dash. If
anything makes bugeyes sell at a premium, it is keeping them looking stock on
the outside.
Not a big problem. I do have a nicely covered stock dash from my other
Bugeye, which I converted to Right Hand Drive. Although I am giving some
serious thought to cutting out a really nice oak or teak one. One of the
things I love about my TR is the wooden dash, and steering wheel. So there
you go, I am already putting in my own version of non stock dash.

Just tons of crazy stuff, like no one bothered to bolt in the head lamp
buckets. A brand new license plate pith and lamp in the box of stuff, but no
one bothered to put it in.

I do like the way the 1275 and 5 speed felt As I said the car is not
registered yet. There was an issue with the Florida title not having the AN5L
in front. So on there advice I took a tracing and brought the VIN plate in.
Not supposed to do that, a felony to remove it. Now they could see all of the
numbers on the plate, but the tracing wasn't clear. So the paperwork wasn't
good enough. The only way to fix that is to have a police verification of the
VIN. Can't take the VIN plate or the car to the police. So I had to make an
appointment to have my friendly state trooper come out. Got that done, now
another trip to the DMV.

So I haven't gone anywhere near full bore in the car yet. But I can tell you
that it pulled up a big hill on the way home in third, (the 948 needed to be
in second). Even in my TR with tons of torque I have top down shift to third
half the way up. So with some new shocks, this baby is going to fast into the
corners and out of them.

All in all, the car was a little rougher than I had expected, but I have no
regrets about it.

Thanks for your help
