yup! XJS to good is quite similar to military inteligence or jumbo shrimp!
the unfortunate part of these cars is they all started life out rather well
but time and owner neglect has left most in the state of needing a lot of
work and their resale value no matter how nice they are and how pretty they
look is not that great! the repairs at the dealer level were astronomical
in value! it was nothing for one to come in and require over 1000.00 worth
of work! most are at the stage where it has been taken for service and an
outrageous estimate has been given to the owner and that precipitates the
car being offered for sale. and since the car is a jaguar the owners all
seem to think they will be able to get a good buck for the car. some poor
soul looking for a high end car cheap will buy one and find it to be a money
pit! a lot of prospective car owners buy on brand name and price! that
puts a lot of proaspectivly easy to fix up cars into the wrong handsright
from the start! XJS's are the lesser expensive of the jag's for a reason!
as are series 3 XJ6's! the jag comunity knows what they are getting into
from the start.

chuck.
do not forget their love for A/C expansion valves, hyd. res. tanks leaking,
and the radiators going bad too! but the turbo 400 trans is almost
indestructable! also they love diff. output bearings and seals what the
heck was it...jlm615, jlm 617 amd jlm 618 i think are the numbers for a side
set of output seals? oh dear god ! i'm loosing it i remember some of the
numbers!!!!!
