Compressor Litigation

Okay, now that we're flush with that victory, maybe someone could check into 
why my 6.5 hp shop vac will start on a 15 amp circuit without even flickering 
the lights and won't pull my labrador retriever to it from 5 feet away like 
you'd think it would if it were really more powerful than the generators or 
lawn mowers that are rated at 5hp.  At least my air compressor has a thick cord!
