Lester...

IMHO, the conversion to disc brakes is
a safety matter. The difference is stopping
ability is night and day. I did this conversion (all new parts) when I
originally purchased my BE which came
with drums all around.

Wire wheels are a PITA. They look great
but are "relatively" maintenance intensive
for the "daily driver". Kate has already
pretty much filled you in on the downside.

Unless the car is an occasional driver in
good weather, they will more or less need
to be scrubbed down and painted at least
once a year (really part of preventive
maintenance with these) and at least twice a year, they must come off so
the
splines can be greased....as otherwise
the heat dries the grease out and they
tend to "freeze" on their splines.

Further, if not properly greased, they wear
the splines on their hubs, requiring pre-
mature replacement of same.

As I said they look great, but.....??
