With no intent to criticize, there
has been a lack of planning here, obviously.
Most airlines had a "buddy" system available to their employees where
friends
could get reduced rate tickets (American
had such a program). It's space available
only though and on "travel weekends" you'd be flying "redeyes", if at
all.
Considering heightened security
(not to mention falling profits
as applied to the "big majors")
procedures since I left, I have no idea whether airlines still have
these "friends
plans". Might be limiting this stuff to
"immediate family only" these days.
You don't wanna know what it costs to
charter or operate your own plane these
days, beleive me!! :(
