Where would one get "Place" bolts? I've never seen them in the nut & bolt 
bins of my local hardware stores.

I'm asking because the big brake kits have an adapter that goes between  the 
hub and the rotor. You can use the original bolts on the adapter to hub or 
adapter to rotor. The kits come with grade 8 bolts for the other interface. 
I'm not running this kit but have some friends that are.

Are you saying these kits may be unsafe?

"These rotor to hub bolts are "place" bolts and are of a special design to
allow heating and cool down without getting loose.  You should NEVER use ANY
grade 5 or 8 bolts here and NEVER use a lock washer."
