Betsey:

I was referred to you by Alan Teague of the Austin Healy Sports Car Club
of Charlotte, North Carolina.

My son who is currently serving in the Marine Corps owns a 19665 Austin
Healy Sprite Mark III. He purchased this car in December of 2002 with
the intent of refurbishing it. Unfortunately in January of 2003 he was
deployed to Iraq through November. He has kept it in storage and in the
back yard of his house again with the intent of eventually refurbishing
it. Now, once again he is being redeployed to Iraq leaving in late
January 2005 and returning in September of 2005.

Needless to say his enthusiasm and available time for the car is
extinguished.

Alan has placed an ad in their organization's newsletter advertising the
car for sale. In talking with him today he suggested that I contact
SCCA in order to find a buyer. A brief description of the car is as
follows:

It is a 1965 Austin Healy Sprite Mark III. The car is completely
assembled but not driveable. Overall it is in good condition for
someone looking to refurbish a car. The body is in great shape but in
need of complete painting. He actually bought a complete car with
additional body parts (almost 1 1/2 cars).

Among the additional items included are as follows:

1 extra engine;
2 extra doors;
1 extra trunk door;
1 extra fender;
1 extra rear axel;
plus other parts that may include items for the assembling the extra
parts listed above.

He originally bought the car for about $1,500.00 He does not know what
the market value is today but I am sure you would know more about that
than he does.

Anyway, he and I both appreciate any assistance that you can provide.
The car is in Jacksonville, North Carolina. Therefore we thought
contacting someone in this area may result in a quicker sale. He will
be in California for the next several weeks returning on December 2nd.
Should anyone wish to inspect this car I can make arrangements for one
of his buddies to show it to them. Just let me know.

Should you have any additional questions kindly email me or call me.

Thank you,
