Frank, is this in jest, or you really don't like Spitfires?
I bought a new 1979 Triumph Spitfire 1500 when I lived in England.
Adequate power, nice cokpit, handling was not bad (improved rear
suspension), and it was better than my 1275 Spridgets on the motorway
(overdrive!). Got real good gas mileage too. Quite a nice little car,
really. 8-)
Sorry I can't help with the carb.
