Colonoscopy typically looks at all the sewer line from the back door to the
appendix.  That's maybe 3 feet of plumbing.
Sigmoidoscopy looks at just the lower few inches of the colon (where most
cancers occur, I believe).  That's the one that hurts-- they usually just
tell you to lay on your side, be a man, and stop grunting.

This test only looks at the lower colon?  Could there still be an issue in
the upper colon that could be missed?
