Hello Lester,

i have a 1098 that has the same kind of action... that is 75
lbs or thereabouts when cold at idle, .. i know the engine has
completely warmed up when it goes to about 45 lbs at 3000 rpm +
and is hot enough to set the valve lash when it drops to about
20 lbs at idle. .. all figures approximate.

this is another of those gauges IMHO that needn't have numbers
attatched. just marks (like a dipstick?) showing mininum and
maximum. as lokng as its in range, everything is just fine. i
once read that a tach should be the same way... but with FOUR
marks... .. idle, max torque, max horsepower and redline.
everthing else is just numbers to needlessley clutter the mind.

       :-)
