That's one of the advantages of having someone who
knows what they're doing drill the helmet.  Per Snell:

"According to Gib Brown, lab manager at Snell,
drilling a hole in your helmet for the purpose of
attaching the D-rings is fine, as long as you stay
below the test line of the particular helmet you use."


Per the website test standard on Snell's website,
"2000 STANDARD FOR PROTECTIVE HEADGEAR
Final - 6/23/99 For Use in Competitive Automotive
Sports", the line is quite a bit above where she
installed the connection.  It is interesting to see
the test lines - as Lorna the Hans lady pointed out,
there is no testing done on the chin of a closed face
helmet.
