Very true. It is also true that the standard 7" halogen bulbs start at 10 
watts (almost an amp) more than the old tungstens. Lucas engineering seldom 
inspires so much confidence that I am willing to ignore this added load. As 
I stated earlier, these cars have already exceeded their projected life. 
Have you loooked at the quality of the replacement switches out there? I 
would rather greatly reduce the load on my headlight switch and dimmer 
switch by installing the relays that Lucas failed to engineer into my car 
now than sit and swear about having to install trashy chinese switches that 
probably will need replaced again next year.
