Ah, but Americans don't want to pay for quality.  They just want it 
cheaper.  Wal-Mart is giving Americans what they want.  Of course at the 
same time, we want to get paid more for doing less.  As that inestimable 
former presidential candidate opined:  "We have met the enemy and he is us."
