Neighbors had a really loud barking dog, got on my wifes nerves
during the day but at night she got mad. The neighbors said "well
you know its a new dog, it will quiet down after it gets used to the
area" and were not willing to do anything else. After about 1 week
she took our cordless phone, dialed the neighbors and put the phone
up on the fence, she did not say a word, she let the dog say it
all. First night was 2AM, second night was 4AM, there has not been a
3rd. night and that was many years ago. Remember to turn off caller
ID on your phone first :)
That might work for your problem during the day time with the dog,
or you could try throwing the dog treats to keep it quiet, something
tasty that takes the dog a while to go through and buy in large
quantities, hand the neighbors the receipt with the bill for "noise control"
