Thanks for all of the help to a newcomer to the board.

I surmised the wealth of knowledge and attacked my 74 Midget MKIIIs
electrical system today.

The turn signal blinkers have not been working, the horn has been either
nonexistent or VERY weak.

I began with the hazards switch -cleaning the copper colored connectors with
sandpaper, checking the fuse, finding no loose wires. The hazards and their
respective flasher is working fine. There is one thing that IS suspect
there. The flasher unit directly next to the hazards switch is a two pronger
that a female connector deriving from said switch has been taped on upside
down AND there is what looks to be a power line coming in and plugged into
the other flasher prong. (Hhhmm..works though.)

Next I opened the glove compartment and spied the flasher unit (for the turn
signals?). After cleaning the connection with no luck , I replaced the
flasher unit. Still nothing.

I think my next stop is to look at grounding wires and bulb connections.
#%*!!@$

While crawling that way I sat before the horns swearing at them to
miraculously come to life. Disconnecting their connections, sanding them up
removing all road and moisture scum....I still here nothing.

AAaaarrrgggh...aaaahh the joy.

And after a full day of turning the key to the IGNITION ON position I assume
that buzzing from the gas tank in the rear that I kept hearing was the fuel
pump.
I hope so . Because Im banking on my Midget being flooded when it refused
to start minutes later.
Perfect.

Well, Ill give it another crack tomorrow afternoon.
I want to give the electrical system at least a months worth of attempts
before crying Uncle and carrying it to the MG specialist in Durham.

Hope all is running smooth on your end.
