You are not alone, Steve....

when I got the right Weber "45" kit for a
PO'd stock 1275, I just turned the key and drove away. No problems at all. That 
same
Weber served me well on a variety of tuned
Series A types for many, many moons with
various calibration changes to suit.

The only "problem" I ever had with it was
keeping it clean internally. No matter the
excellent K&N and sealing grease, fine grit
always managed to find it's way in to clog
up the idle/progression channels every now
and then. :)
