I disagree.  Maybe I'm off topic, as I missed the original post, but I think 
that defensive driving makes you stand out.  Not too many people do it.  My 
brief explanation of defensive driving to people is that you have to think like 
a quarterback making a run for the end.  There's a lot of people trying to get 
you and you have to be aware of where they are and plan where you're going to 
go when they come for you.
