Quick update on the exhaust problem:

I shortened the exhaust by around 2" yesterday afternoon and took a 
quick test drive. The wife wanted me in for dinner so I had to keep the 
test driving to a minimum. The smell wasn't nearly as bad. I'm not 100% 
sure it cured it because I already smelled like gas and exhaust from 
using my chain saw to cut down some dead trees earlier in the afternoon. 
I'll have to go out for another test drive soon to confirm.
