Get an Innovate LM-1 for around $350.  They come with a wideband O2
sensor and bung.  Mount the bung, install the sensor, use, and sell on
ebay when you're finished.
If you have more than one car, get multiple bungs with plugs for after
you are finished.
Don't waste your time with a narrow band sensor if you want good results.
Some theroize that the O2 continues to be burned in the exhaust system
so it is better to install the sensor near the motor and not in the
tail pipe.
They also make O2 sensor setups that are permanent install with 2"
gauges that you can watch as you drive.  I don't see the point,
but......
