Still toiling away on this little car...

Took some time to work with the steering rack. I worked some 90wt gear 
oil in there, and it is definitely loosened up quite a bit.  ran it back 
and forth a while, and it's pretty smooth now. Got boots on, and have 
about 4 oz of 90wt in there now. How much should be in there? I looked 
in my books, but was unable to find that info...

Since it's all apart, radiator out and all, it's getting a new belt and 
hoses, thermostat, etc. While removing the belt, we noticed there was a 
_lot_ of slop in the water pump shaft, so I pulled it out for 
replacement. Looks like an aluminum housing with a rubber impeller, so 
sure thats not original. Are there any cast iron replacement pumps out 
there?

If I hadn't pulled the pump, I would never have noticed the little 3 
inch long hose from the bottom of the head to the pump. It was a really 
nasty old piece too! What size hose is that? And is it the same as to 
the heater core?
