The compact fluorescents last way longer in enclosed spaces like
closets, shower stalls, and glass globes where the heat buildup
kills the incandescents. Ours in the upstairs closet is about 2 years
old, as are the ones in the overhead kitchen fixture (where we used
to replace incandescents every month or so due to heat).
