I would think that you need the later rubber steering wheel with the rubber 
horn push etc.  Not the plastic rimmed with three pairs of chrome spokes.  I 
think that '68 was kind of a safety changeover year.  In other words, they 
started messing stuff up irreversibly.  Is your dash completely padded?  That 
will tell you a great deal.
