Mark a line on the wall of your garage with a board, tape, cranberry
sauce...whatever, at about the center height of the headlights. Roll the car
back 10 feet or so, but still on flat. The left should go a bit toward
center, both should dip a bit down. Think about having the bright center 3-5
inches below that center line. Aim with the low beams, but sanity check the
high beams. The odds of blinding someone are really low in a sprigdet, but
generally this is how it's done.
Alternatively, find a small, independent garage/inspection station and ask the
tired looking 30 something mechanic to help. When it's fixed, hand him a $20
and say "Happy Thanksgiving". It wil help his family, and you'll have a good
shop to go to when you need a hand.

Subject: [Spridgets] aiming headlights
Any rules of thumb for aiming headlights to get them at least close to
correct before I take it out for a nighttime spin?
Also, the bugeye bonnet lock handle is held in place by putting a
screw in the end and spreading the shaft? Or is there a pin or
something to use?
