3M makes products that exactly replicate the original factory undercoating on
Spridgets.
The body shop that did my Pink Car used Body Schutz #08964, I believe, and it
looks exactly like the goop applied at the factory and provides good sound
deadening.

They make other suitable products, but this one is paintable.

the original(?) undercoating in the '58s rear fenders is cracked and peeling
off. If I were to NOT do anything, I'm afraid that water and debris will
