Hi Chris et al - thank you indeed, you are all of course quite right. I feel
somewhat vindicated now... was a bit disappointed that I'd managed to bugger
up changing something quite so simple. This might go some way to explaining
why my car was lurching violently from side to side now and again...
Chris, many thanks for the offer of the bolt - I actually already had an order
open on Moss for a carburettor float, so I just ordered the correct pins as
well (just in case the other side is the same).
One final question... does anyone have a nice cost-effective way of
compressing a spring? :)

You've definitely got the wrong pin in there. I rooted around in the stuff
left over from when we did ours and could only find one, but you're welcome to
it if you want it. If so and you want to come get it, let me know. (You
probably don't remember where I am exactly from that one brief trip here to
top off your front shocks.)
