I didn't describe it well...

The part that broke off is the "cup" that is attached to the car where the
shielded part of the cable end sits in.

My cable is new-ish and works well.

Thanks
Chris

Ends for braided cable are usually crimped on and/or soldered on. Brazing
might work. IMHO welding would cause the cables to become brittle, and
they'd brake later.

If you want to pull the whole thing out, you can have it duplicated.

Hi all-
its almost 50 degrees here (for a few hours at least) in SE WI so of course
I need to do some laps in the neighborhood. I notice my gas pedal feels odd
so I check the cable from one end to the other and find that the metal
collar on the firewall/pedal-box area inside the engine compartment has
broke free.

is there a repair kit for this or do I have to weld it up somehow?

thanks
Chris
