If you want to read about and see photos of the resurrection of a 
Spridget in really poor condition, get a copy of Lindsay Porter's 
"Guide to Purchase & DIY Restoration of the MG Midget & Austin Healey 
Sprite" from Haynes  - ISBN 0 85429 336 1. It shows a car that we in 
this country wouldn't even consider as able to be saved. It does show 
some photos of parts of the insides of a car most of us would never 
(never want to ) see. It may give you some encouragement if yours 
isn't as bad as the one depicted in the book.
