I would add two more things to this thread that are very important. 1.
Have a properly executed health care surrogate form. You might get hit by
the drunk driver and live, but not be able to make any decisions for
yourself or even communicate those decisions. Make sure you have someone
you trust making those decisions for you. You need this even if you are
married. 2. Have a living will. Again this ensures your wishes are
carried out regarding being kept alive artificially. And you need this
also even if you are married.
