Check the rotor by looking at the spark both at the cool wire and at a
spark plug wires. Strong spark at the coil and weak or none at the plug can
mean bad rotor.

Check that #1 is firing near #1TDC. It should be a bit before, but not a
lot.

Check that you don't have fuel bowls full of water. Water settling in the
tank could cause running for a short time then stalling dead.

Verify compression in the cylinders.

Don't get discouraged. You have to sort out all the nits. Then you get to
drive a Bugeye!
