You wrote previously that the LATER wheel (allegedly used on both Tigers and
Alpines from around 1964-65 onward) was beefed up to prevent lug pull-through
due to greater stresses from the Tiger.  

Sorry, Norm, you can't have it both ways.  Gary's heavier-duty '64 wheel
should not predate the thinner '66 wheel described above if they were used on
both cars as you suggest. 

Tiger wheels are different, despite having the same factory part number.
  Hope you haven't been running around on non-stock (GASP!!) Alpine wheels
all these years.
