     Hi Andy:

Oil: I've been using Castrol 20W50 since the 70's with no problems.
DO NOT use it if you are planning to drive in really cold weather. I
had this in my Jetta one December when we had a sudden dip to 8
degrees F, and the engine would not even crank.

Gas: I have a stock 260 two barrel. I've been using the standard 92
or 93, at whatever station is convenient. Maybe I could get away with
less, but I usually only go through a few tankfulls a year, so who
cares about a few more cents per gallon, versus the risk of knock.

Additives: I have a collection of several lead substitutes, that I
throw in every couple fillups. Most came from K-Mart or whatever, but
there's also some super concentrated purple stuff I got at a marine
supply store a couple years back. My car has maybe 60K on it, if
previous owners are to be believed, and I've only averaged 500 miles
per year since the late '70's, so it's hard to say what effect this
     has had on the valves.

     I hope this helps.

     Stu
