        All right.  Here's a question for the TAC people.  Of all of the
Tigers that are still around, just how many Quality Alpine conversions
have you actually found?  I just can't imagine anyone taking the time
and money to hunt down all of the parts to build a replica Tiger based
on the Alpine.  You know, there just aren't that many Tiger / Falcon
Sprint firewalls around anymore.  I would think that one quick look
would expose an Imposter.  So it would seem that the TAC program is not
so concerned with rooting out the imposters (as there simply can't be
many at all that even a quick once-over for the tiger specific parts,
could slip by un detected), but rather in evaluating the purity of the
individual Tiger.  It's still a Tiger after all, this one just has the
replaced parts, and that over there is missing the original rivets, and
that BRG one over there has its Tach re calibrated with a new capacitor.
It's non stock of course.  Forget about the fact that is now more
accurate and can save you thousands of dollars in over revving
damage....its just not original, and I have to take a point off for
that....bla bla bla...
        This is far more to the concourse side of original, where they
inspect every little detail - Compared to - "Is this a real Tiger?".  It
all comes down to "WHY" you own a Tiger.  Its a real blast to drive !!
(You don't want a perfect concourse car for driving.  One little chip in
the paint, and its strip it to the metal time...again.  No, you would
just a want a normal Real Tiger for that application.  And for those
perfect concourse cars.  They're in trailers, and heated garages and are
to be looked at as museum pieces.  Neither of these examples is Bad, you
just need to make your choice, and figure out Why you own a Tiger.  If
it's one of the Concourse cars, then get it TAC'ed.  If you want to
drive and have fun with it, Forget it!  Enjoy the car the way it was
meant to be.  On the Road with the top down with the Wind in your hair
(for those of us who still have hair), and bugs in your teeth, (I sit
real tall !!).
        Either way, enjoy them for what they are.  Little British Cars,
that we all love.  Keep'em going anyway you can.

        Still interested in just how many Phony Tigers have been found,
where some one was trying to pass it off as a Tiger, and it was really a
modified Alpine..  Just curious.
