Here's one for you! Which 4-Speed Transmissions
 will fit the Tiger.............................[chop]

Tim,

Don't know about other labels but the Ford toploader was built in three
case lengths.

The '64-'65 Fairlane and Sunbeam Tiger case is 25.5" long; the '65-'73 AC
Cobra
with 427 cid, all Mustangs, Falcons, Mavericks, Cougars, other Fairlanes,
Comets,
and pickups use a 24" tranny and the full-sized cars and 428 and 429 Torino
use
the 27" box.

The '64 toploaders used a small 4-hole maincase with a small bearing
retainer.
All '65-'73 cases were wide 8-hole cases with a large bearing retainer.

The 25 spline output shaft was used in '64 and early '65 then dropped in
favor of
the 28 spline version (used on all 200 to 390 cid) while the 427-428-429
used a
31-spline shaft. There are a few exceptions to the above and the toploader
was produced in 133 specific models.

So say'ith my Trans builder.
