Bob,

The two negative things I've heard about the carbon/metallics is:

1) You've got to get them hot before they work well, so your first stop
from cold better not be an emergency.

2) The steel used in the "old bad asbestos days" wasn't as hard as the
new disks designed to go with the metallics, so you can wear the old
Rootes rotors out very quickly.

Your words sort of implied the "works better hot", but not "watch it if
they're cold".

What's your, or others, experience with these particular "old wives
tales"?
