Tony,

You said "Acrylic Lacquer". Are you sure it's not "Acrylic Enamel"?

This is probably a difficult job, without damaging the "paint" on the
VIN.

With all the discussion about "original rivets", I'd hesitate to remove
them. Besides, it's against the law to "tamper" with a VIN. Advise no to
remove, and VERY careful about paint removal. Maybe better off to leave
it alone, unless your sure about what you're doing.
