Gary,

I'm going to bet you the answer you get is the unit is an hydraulic throw-out
bearing made by _ MACCLEOD!

They are known to seep fluid inside the bell housing.  Hopefully that means you
just have to keep topping off the master cylinder, instead of fouling the
clutch.  I'll bet you are not using a MkII style bracket for your 6 bolt.  Maybe
that's where you need to put some effort.  A correctly designed bracket.  I
think Sunbeam Specialties has some.  Just make sure you put the flange of the
slave on the proper side of the bracket.
