In the quest for a cooler running Tiger, many of you have shown an interest
in a no longer available 6 bladed Ford fan. Similar ones have been suggested
and identified and seem to possibly work......maybe with minor modifications
such as trimming the tips of the blades. Unfortunately they are a bit pricey
(at least to me) at the $60-$90 range.
I have spotted what seems to be the same type, etc. in the Speedway Motors
cataloge. The cataloge I have is a 1997 issue so the prices may vary a little.
The fan at issue is on page 112 and is described as "Heavy Duty Cooling Fan"
in 15",17",18",or 19" diameter. Steel or aluminum. The price is listed at
$21.95 for the steel, part number 910-1575, or $28.95 for the aluminum, part
number 910-1576. They appear to have a 5/8" bore, and be of the asymetrical
design like the Ford item.
Speedway's order line number is (402) 474-4411.
As you can see, this is a substantially lower price than even a used one. I
hope this is a help to someone out there in Tiger Country.
