The Edelbrock high flow water pump (EDE-8842) that is for the stock
timing cover is about 5/16" to long (base to hub)so the water pump pully
will not line up with the gen or crank. i called them and and you can
press the hub down the shaft so it will work.

i wanted to use my mallory distributor (4755101) for 260/289/302 in my
5.0 motor. it has a shorter shaft that drives the oil pump by .5". you
need the (4770401)

i found 50oz dampners for 5.0 motor that will work with the stock timing
cover. it is also drilled for the three hole pattern on the crank, and
the timing marks line up with the pointer.
total proformance 810-468-3673 cost $149

some day my car will run.

p.s. that distributor for 260/289/302 is for sale
