Sounds like the pilot bearing to me.  But most of the 
net think it the throw out bearing.

In any case, it'll not get any better.  While you have
it apart, spend the money and replace the pilot bearing
along with the throw out bearing.  Use the McCloed
throw out bearing.  SS carries them.
